CHROMATIC SPACES:A MODE OF LIGHT
October 2020
In these productions for the ARTONOV Festival, Lisa is pursuing an interest in synaesthesia, looking at the connections between colour, sound, scent and perception. The scents used are part of a connecting force that represents both musical modes and how they relate to the other senses. She is making glass sculptures, lino prints, and dyed fabric that include text as inspiration and reference both musical concepts and the history of the buildings which will house the performances.
FEUILLES NOIRES
October 2020
In Collaboration with Michaël Grebil Liberg (Musician, Composer, Poet)
« From the Abyss were born Erebos and dark Night.
And Night, pregnant after sweet intercourse With Erebos, gave birth to Aether and Day. »
Dark Matter... Black leaves of Time in the heart of an era struggling in the midst of an alchemical Blackening - Nigredo -
to dive into the obscure depth of a dusk, and initiate a ritual to the amniotic night, the dream of a poetic archeology of the memory, this is what the artists will propose during this evening in the Chez Pias building.
This is a ritual in which one will journey back in Time, feeling and listening to the ancient echo of the printing presses of the old red daily newspaper - Le Peuple - to find the lost memory of the place, the fragile traces of ink and leaf. Along the descent, experience the visions of ancient forsaken libraries, the darkness of a slave ship’s hold, the reminiscence of an immemorial forest thrown into dark, and from where would rise from the soil, bodies, ashes, leaves, humus... and scents so old that we would have forgotten them.
Throughout the intimate and sensory dramaturgy of Lisa Goldberg, t he sonic & talismanic alchemy of Michaël Grébil Liberg with his soundscapes and Øscuråtronics project, this is an invitation made to the audience to let themselves be haunted by an obscure reverie, dormant in our cells and which would only need a spark to awake.
An hymn that would still resound in the depths of the black earth...
